NEW YORK - Former Pakistan Supreme Court Judge Rana Bhagwandas has agreed to be the keynote speaker at the 24th annual Convention of the Sindhi Association of North America (SANA being held in Dallas, Texas, from July 3 to 6, it was announced Thursday.
SANA President Aziz Narejo said in a press statement that justice Bhagwandas would speak on matters related to the independence of judiciary, supremacy of Constitution and rule of law in Pakistan.
The annual conventions of SANA, the largest representative organization of Sindhis living in USA and Canada, draw a large number of people. He said he had also invited PTI chief Imran Khan and representatives from PPP and PML-N to speak on the current situation in Pakistan and answer questions from our members.
Besides, Narejo said a number of programmes have been planned at this year's convention imn Dallas, Texas, that include sessions for youth and women, a medical seminar, "Sindhi Adabi Mehfil" and two nights of Sindhi music.
The sessions also include an awards ceremony for talented students and other community members who have to their credit extraordinary achievements, he said. Prominent scholars, educationists, political leaders, writers, intellectuals and distinguished guests from Pakistan and India are also to attend.
