Teacher admits plan to bomb shopping complex
By ASIF MEHMOOD May 24, 2008 LONDON - A British Muslim English teacher on Friday pleaded guilty of threatening to blow up the Europe's largest shopping complex.
Saeed Ghafoor said he was going to bomb giant Bluewater shopping centre using three limousines with gas canister explosives, Old Bailey Crown Court heard.
Ghafoor, 33, of Southampton, pleaded guilty to threatening to cause criminal damage. He was remanded in custody for reports before sentencing next month. The Bluewater centre was the target for a group of "terrorists" allegedly led by Omar Khyam who were jailed for a fertiliser bomb plot last year.
