LAHORE - Provincial Minister for Prisons, Ch Abdul Ghafoor has said that a commission should be formed to probe into all the murders of political personalities from former Prime Minister Laiqat Ali Khan to Benazir Bhutto.
He said though the UN investigators are investigating into Benazir Butto’s murder case but as this murder happened in the limits of Punjab province so it was the prime duty of Inspector General of Punjab police to probe into the matter.
Ch Abdul Ghafoor expressed these views at The Nation Forum here on Thursday. He said as an FIR had been registered against the murder of Benazir Bhutto so government should trace the person behind this cruel act.
He said certain politicians enjoying dual nationalities in Pakistan should be questioned that whether they like to live in Pakistan or abroad as they have all their assets and interests at abroad, they have even their future abroad so they should go abroad rather than living in Pakistan. Politicians possessing Pakistani passport should be allowed to take part in political process in Pakistan, he demanded. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was creation of former dictator and reason behind its formation was to victimise the leadership of PML-N.
To a question, he said NRO should be seen case to case and beneficiaries of the Ordinance should be prosecuted accordingly.
He said NRO was discussed within his party and it was the unanimous decision of the party leadership. He advocated for the democratic system within the country and said the worst from of democracy was better than dictatorship and PML-N would not play the opposition’s role for the sake of opposition rather it would discuss issues and exercise the politics with positive approach.
