A rebuttal
By DR SARFARAZ HUSSAIN MIRZA October 8, 2008 This is with reference to a painful report published in The Nation, Lahore, dated September 16, 2008. It deals with the proceedings of an event related to the 'International Day of Democracy' organised at Islamabad by the Centre for Civic Education, Pakistan and United Nations Information Centre.
The above derogatory report carries views of a learned professor at the Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. A scientist by profession, Dr Pervaiz Hoodbhoy has hurled bitter invectives on the basis of the creation of Pakistan in his lecture on Does Pakistan need a new vision. He has directly attacked about a century old slogan i.e., Unity, Faith, Discipline given to the nation by its father, Quaid-i-Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Dr Pervaiz has even mischievously questioned the Two-Nation Theory which is the crux of the creation of Pakistan. Is there any need to remind Dr Pervaiz the historical statement of the Quaid when he said, "The Two-Nation Theory, is not a theory but a fact. The division of India is based on this fact." He very clearly said that India has proved herself a Hindu State pulling out Hindus from Pakistan.
