Pakistan and China enjoy a very cordial relationship and they are considered as an all weather friends. China is an emerging economic superpower. The recent global financial crises have affected the strongest economies as well as developed countries and most of the countries have also suffered due to international economic depression, but China is one of the countries which had a tiny impact on its economy.
The foundation of diplomatic ties that were laid down 57 years ago on May 21, 1951 perpetually grew without any troubles and suspicions. The second high-level exchanges were made in February 1964 and in March 1965 respectively that gave impetus to the growth of mutual ties between the two countries.
Both the countries exchanged their first high level visits in October and December 1956 at the peak of the Cold War by witnessing the spirit of the Bandung Conference, aiming at promoting peace and cooperation, and development among the developing countries of the South.
The financial crises and the role of international donor agencies also require joint steps to overcome this financial market turmoil. China is the country which can play a vital role in this troublesome situation. It has always proved its significance and loyalty towards Pakistan.
The roots of bilateral friendship between the two countries are very deep rooted and this friendship has always proved trustworthy in difficult times. Both countries have the same stance on the international as well as regional issues especially on the war against terrorism. Pakistan always looks towards China in any difficult situation and in recent financial turmoil' Pakistan has been assured by Chinese leadership of their cooperation and help.
