Thundering and wondering
By DR A.H. KHAYAL August 28, 2008 We need a new president. Let's hope that the new president would emulate the performances of the past presidents. Almost every president of the past was so busy with his own presidential affairs that he had no time for dealing with the gruesome problems of the masses. Inevitably, the problems went on mounting and mounting. Today Pakistan is a Mount Everest of the masses' poverty.
For decades, the masses have been living with poverty. It has become their very life-style. Let's hope that no new president deprives the masses of their decades-old life-style.
Sixty years have come and gone. Things have consistently grown more and more horrific. Will the coming years be better? Will they pity us? Unfortunately, future never foretells its hidden plans for mankind.
During the sixty years, millions of Pakistanis have been slaughtered by un-natural deaths. The un-natural deaths in the country are resolutely endeavouring to out number the natural deaths. If they succeed, the credit will go to our political system. The masses are shivering with dire apprehensions.
By our political tomfooleries we have humiliated Pakistan in the world's eyes. O politicians, what harm has Pakistan done to you? Did the Quaid offend you? His soul is miserable.
Pakistan is sixty years old. Sixty is the retirement age in Pakistan. If you look deep into the country's eyes, you might read there: "I am sixty. Why don't you retire me?"
