Karachi killings
December 2, 2008 THE bloodshed in Karachi which started on Saturday has shown no signs of letting up, with Monday seeing the toll go up to 43, and hundreds sustaining serious injuries, in ethnic rioting that was focused on the West Zone. Measures by the government to bring the situation under control, such as changing the zonal chief of police, and inducting Rangers, did not seem to be working. The clashes started because of linguistic-based organisations' attempts to take over the City for themselves, and have continued because no one has established superiority, so no one is willing to let go.
