The right prescription

PPP Co-Chairperson Asif Zardari has brought out certain basic truths that have governed the West’s relations with Pakistan over the decades, its lack of vision in dealing with problems that, in fact, resulted in intensifying those problems, gave birth to new and more serious ones, and dragged the entire world within their cruel grip. As he addressed the Socialist International Congress in Athens on Tuesday, he also pleaded for a radical change in the international community’s approach to them and for coming forward to help his country become a ‘successful model of modernity for the 1.3 billion Muslims’ in the world. And “if we fail (for lack of this help), the world will fail with us,” he rightly warned.
