Tightrope walk

WHILE maintaining opposite stands on the mode of the restoration of deposed judges, the PPP and PML-N have decided to work together to formulate an agreed constitutional package aimed at handing over crucial powers from the President to the Prime Minister and running the country like a genuine parliamentary democracy based on the principle of federalism. The members of the joint committee would presumably be nominated after a PML-N committee, already engaged in examining the package in depth, has finished its work, presumably by the end of this week. The jointly worked out package would be discussed by the cabinet and put before the parliament after the budget session for vote sometime at the end of June or early July.
