July 11, 2008 THE firing by the Indian forces from across the LoC into the Azad Kashmir’s Battal area is to be condemned. Since it was without any provocation that the Indian troops started their offensive, the incident comes as yet more proof of Indian aggression. The retaliation by the Pakistani soldiers that followed only seems a natural outcome, as maintained by DG ISPR Maj Gen Athar Abbas. Besides, it is not the first time that the Indians have violated the ceasefire. About four Pakistani soldiers had died last month as a result of Indian shelling.
