They live!

The current power crisis and load shedding is really a crisis for the poor as there is no load shedding for the powerful people. A brief stroll in Chitral town reveals that even during severe power breakdowns, the houses of our local MNA, DCO, and Nazim UC Chitral are exempt from power cuts. Some of them have separate transformers for convenience and some of them enjoy double-link connections. That is why they do not raise their voice against power shortage and unscheduled load shedding. Had the VIPs of the town also shared in our misery, there would have been some hue and cry against 16-18 hours daily load shedding in Chitral Town. -HAROON RASHID, Chitral, via e-mail, May 22.
