The x men society
July 5, 2008 A limited number of about twenty devoted senior officers of the rank of Lt Colonel/Brigadier used to meet every week. Although, the society was open to membership to every ex-serviceman, the actual number of members did not cross a few hundred.
The present deluge of retired Generals from the forum of Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society owes its response to the doctrine of necessity.
They were not on the membership list in the past years. Even the founder members deserted the society when it turned into a political party with business interests. Every Ex-serviceman has the right to become a member. -BRIG (Retd) A.Q. ANJUM, Rawalpindi, via e-mail, June 21.
