Mr Asif Ali Zardari took office of president with serious doubts about his credentials for holding such high office. His credibility as a probate trustee and his ability to conduct in his official capacity leaves one with not much confidence. Unfortunately he has done little to abate such concerns. In fact he has mostly proved the scathing view about himself right through his lackluster performance at the UN and his puerile, school boyish remarks in meeting with Sara Palin. I think he needs to do some serious introspection soon to retrieve some of his lost image. So what can he do?

(a) Ask himself why is it that no one in the world is prepared to give money to his government. (b) Ask himself whether he is trusted to keep his word? The following steps may help; (c). He should immediately resign from membership of PPP leaving the co-chairmanship for some other able colleague. (d). Declare under oath all his assets, here and abroad including those in the name of his late wife. -KHURAM KHAN, Lahore, via e-mail, October 28.
