Blast at Pak Consulate in Herat: Afghan envoy summoned
By SHAIQ HUSSAIN August 1, 2008 ISLAMABAD - Pakistan on Thursday summoned the Afghan Ambassador Mohammad Anwar Anwarzai to the Foreign Office and lodged a strong protest over bombing outside Pakistan’s Consulate in Herat.
“The Government of Pakistan condemns the bomb explosion outside its consulate in Herat injuring one policeman,” said the Foreign Office statement issued here after the Afghan envoy was summoned to convey the grave concerns of Islamabad over the gory incident.
Earlier, some reports by news channels suggested that the Afghan Ambassador refused to visit the Foreign Office after he was summoned there.
