Free judiciary inevitable for good governance: Iftikhar
Source: OUR STAFF REPORTER August 1, 2008 DASKA - The deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary has said that the independence of judiciary is inevitable for good governance.
He stated this during his telephonic address to Sialkot District Bar Association here on Thursday.
The deposed CJ said the movement for the restoration of judges has geared up with the passage of time and it has further energised. Speaking about Suo Motu cases initiated by himself in the past, he said many people had obtained relief through the orders passed in these cases. Hailing the services of media he said it has cooperated most with them.
