Free judiciary inevitable for good governance: Iftikhar

Deposed CJ said the lawyers movement is near to achieve its goal, he stated adding that incumbent government had failed to take any decision in accordance with the aspirations of people following the February 18 elections.

He said the restoration of independent judiciary was vital for the rule of law, release of missing persons and provision of justice to everyone. Iftikhar said that the people had stood up for the supremacy of the Constitution, rule of law and the independence of judiciary. He said the people had joined the lawyers’ struggle for the attainment of justice at their doorsteps.
