The United Nations fact-finding commission set up to look into the assassination of former premier Benazir Bhutto to begin its work from today. The commission will submit its report to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon within six months. Foreign Office spokesman recently said that a 3-member UN commission will arrive in Pakistan in the third week of July to probe into assassination of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and submit its report to UN secretary general within 6 months. Last February, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon announced formation of a three-member commission, headed by Chile's UN Ambassador Heraldo Munoz, and Indonesia's former attorney general Marzuki Dar Usman. The appointment of Peter Fitzgerald, a former senior Irish police officer, completed the composition of the inquiry body. Fitzgerald was earlier a member of the UN investigation team on the killing of former Lebanese premier Rafik Harriri.
