PESHAWAR - Almost one dozen suspected militants including two commanders of Taliban were apprehended during search operation here in the outskirt of provincial capital, while one militant was killed when police retaliated for his firing in Mathra area on Sunday.
Police sources said that fresh round of search operation was being conducted jointly by FC and police in Mathra, Mattani, Awezai and Budhbera areas. Two persons were arrested form Hayatabad, one form Lady Reading Hospital, and one was held form Hashnagri.
Heavy contingents of police and FC have been deployed on all entry points leading to Peshawar from Dudzai and Mattni areas to keep vigilant eye and stop frequent infiltration of Taliban from Swat and Buner districts.
It is worth mentioning here that the police have been put on red alert to avert any terrorist activity in and around the city. Due to continues search operations in the outskirts of Peshawar, militants after shaving their beards are taking refuge in various local hotels.
