ISLAMABAD (Agencies) - For the first time in the history of Pakistan, the foreign envoys in Islamabad were briefed at the latest political situation of the country.
This made even the envoys astonished as to why the briefing was being given to them while Sharifs' disqualification and imposition of Governor rule in Punjab was an internal matter of Pakistan.
In response to such queries, Federal Information Minister Sherry Rehman and Federal Law Minister Farooq Naek maintained that some embassies had asked about the verdict of Sharif brothers' case, hence the briefing had been arranged.
During the briefing, Saudi Ambassador Ali Awadh Elassiri raised the question if it would not have been better to declare only one brother ineligible rather than both of them. Federal Law Minister at this replied that it was the verdict of the Court and govt had nothing to do with it.
