3 more civilians fall prey to Swat operation

MINGORA, Swat - Though casualties of both security forces and Taliban are yet to be ascertained, three civilians were killed and several others injured during the fresh round of operation in Matta and Kabal regions of Swat district on Friday.

The reports reveal that several mortars hit the civilian population in Shaur, Vaini, Gatt Pewchar, Tarraan, Ronyal and other parts of both Kabal and Matta Tehsils. As a result of shelling two civilians were killed in Shaur and one at Vaini.

The eyewitnesses informed that a large number of civilians were injured. Due to imposition of curfew, the injured people couldn’t be shifted to hospital.

There are reports that several Taliban were killed and injured in the fresh round of operation. So far the officials didn’t make public the details of the casualties.
