APC to discuss national security today

Both the leaders once again expressed their resolve that Pakistan was ready to extend all cooperation to India in tracking down the culprits if they had some links or roots in Pakistan, but at the same time asked India to refrain from levelling wild allegations against Pakistan’s implication in these attacks without any solid evidence.
Soon after Mumbai mayhem when India came out openly implicating Pakistan in these attacks, Premier Gilani took the initiative to take the political leadership of the country into confidence and had telephonic contacts with them.
Almost all the political leaders and heads of political parties extended all out support to government over the issue and suggested calling of APC to discuss the national security in the backdrop of the threats coming to Pakistan from India.
In the past couple of days Premier Gilani contacted PML (Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, PML (N) Chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, ANP Chief Asfandyar Wali, JUI (F) Chief and Chairman Kashmir Committee of the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Tehrik-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan, PML (F) chief Pir Sahib Pagara, PPP (S) chief Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, Leader of Opposition Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, PKMAP Chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, former Prime Minister Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi, Air Marshal (Retd) Asghar Khan, Dr Abdul Hye Baloch, Senator Abdur Rahim Mandokhel, Senator Sajid Mir, JUI (S) Chief Maulana Samiul Haq, Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosvi, Dr Tahir ul Qadri, Raja Zulqarnain Khan, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, former Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, Prime Minister AJK Sardar Atiq Ahmed Khan, Allama Sajid Naqvi, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Dr Abdul Malik, Israrullah Zehri, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Munir Khan Orakzai and Senators Shahid Bugti, Ismail Baladi and Haji Muhammad Hanif Tayyab.
All these leaders had assured their participation in the meeting and those who could not turn up at APC would be sending their representatives in it.
