No let-up in riots

KARACHI - The death toll in the metropolis mounted to 43 deaths on Monday while hundreds others sustained serious injuries as the City remained in the grip of deadliest ethnic riots for the last three days. Meanwhile, DIG Majeed Dasti has taken the charge as DIG West Zone and replaced DIG Aleem Jafferi.
The situation remained tense on Monday as a large number of houses, shops and vehicles were set on fire in different areas of the city. Dozens of families living in affected localities such as Chishti Nagar, Raees Amrohi Colony, Bukhari Colony, Ali Ghar, Rahim Shah Colony, Faiz-e-Aamm Colony and Sector 11 Orangi Town have moved toward safer places.
