US court orders psychiatric evaluation of Dr. Aafia
US District Judge Richard Berman ordered on Wednesday that detained Pakistani doctor Aafia Siddiqui should undergo a psychiatric evaluation and hearing before next hearing. District Judge Richard Berman ordered a month-long medical assessment, treatment and psychological examination for Doctor Aafia to determine if she was "medically fit and mentally competent" to stand trial. Dr Aafia Siddiqui's next hearing has been scheduled for December 17 in Manhattan federal court.
