Rejoin coalition to solve crises

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and PPP's presidential candidate Asif Ali Zardari have vowed to strengthen democracy and national institutions, and bring a positive change in the lives of the masses.

They expressed these views at a luncheon meeting with a large group of parliamentarians from NWFP and later at the dinner hosted in honour of the Parliamentarians from Punjab at the PM House on Monday.

The parliamentarians from NWFP and Punjab extended their full support to PPP's presidential candidate Asif Ali Zardari. The Senators, MNAs and MPAs from NWFP and Punjab assured their full support to Asif Ali Zardari for the strengthening of democracy, bringing political harmony and further strengthening the Federation.

Governor NWFP Owais Ghani, Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti, ANP Chief Asfandyar Wali and leader of Opposition in NWFP Assembly Akram Khan Durrani were also present on the occasion.

While at dinner function, Governor Punjab Sulman Taseer, Advisor to PM on Industries Mian Manzoor Wattoo, Senior Minister in Punjab Raja Riaz and all the MPAs, Senators and MNAs of the party from the province were present.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the parliamentarians for their solidarity and support and said this showed positive thinking and liberal democratic approach. The democratic forces in the province, he added, had never compromised on principles. He assured that all the promises made with the parliamentarians from NWFP and Punjab would be fulfilled. He also assured them the implementation of all the projects under PSDP in both the provinces and development schemes pertaining to the womenfolk and minorities.
