No threat to govt if 'N' quits: Mukhtar
By SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT August 3, 2008 NEW YORK - Stating that the PPP government is in a strong position, Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar said it could stay in power even without its coalition partners.
“There is no danger to the government even if PML-N were to leave the coalition,” he told a gathering of Pakistani-Americans in Brooklyn, a borough of New York City. He, however, made it clear that PPP would not enter into an alliance with PML-Q because the PPP contested elections against that party.
After addressing the dinner meeting, hosted by PPP New York State President, Sarwar Chaudhry, the defence minister answered questions asked by journalists.
