Crackdown on trouble-makers

KARACHI - Death toll in the violence-hit Karachi reached to 47 lives on Tuesday while commercial and routine life has been restored in various parts of the city.
According to official sources, Sindh Government has extended the ban on pillion ridding for three more days.
Panic gripped badly affected areas in the city, including Orangi Town, Balida Town, Mangopir, Machar Colony, Ittehad Town, Yaqoobabad, Raees Amrohi Colony, Qa’aba Colony, Quaidabd, Sultanabad, on the fourth consecutive day of ethnic riots where people remained confined to their houses. However, normalcy has returned to overall commercial and routine life in the metropolis.
Meanwhile, some five people have been reported killed and several others injured in separate incidents of firing while public and private properties were also set on fire in various areas of the city.
Two persons, including an MQM activist, were shot dead while two others injured in Baldia Town also succumbed to their wounds in the hospital bringing the total death toll in the ongoing violence up to 47 during the last four days.
