Wagon crash kills 16 in AJK
MIRPUR (AJK) - As many as 16 people, including six women, were killed and six others injured when a passenger wagon skidded into a deep ravine Wednesday near Kahori village, about 10 kilometres from Muzaffarabad.
The ill-fated wagon with 21 passengers on board met with the accident while negotiating a sharp turn. The injured have been hospitalised in Muzaffarabad.
The number of casualties might rise, Station House Officer Kahori Police Station said.
He said the rescue teams were facing a lot of difficulties in conducting rescue operations because of the rugged mountainous terrain.
However, he was hopeful that rescue operation would be completed successfully.
