NEW DELHI (APP) - Communal violence in Mysore claimed three lives here on Thursday.
The agitation was triggered when a madrassa was desecrated in the city. Clashes between Muslim community
and Hindus took place which claimed three lives including one child. The police resorted to lathi-charge and
used teargas shells and rubber bullets to disperse the clashing communities. Home Minister V S Acharya told
reporters in Bangalore that central security forces had been summoned to Mysore where the situation was
tense. The police contingents have been deployed at important places to control the situation.
