US asks its citizens not to visit Peshawar

ISLAMABAD - The United States on Tuesday issued a travel ban on its citizens, as American embassy has asked US nationals not to visit Peshawar in the next 24 hours.
The travel ban on American citizens came in the wake of repeated terrorist attacks in Peshawar during the last few days.
A notification issued by the American embassy also asked US nationals to avoid visiting public places and revealing their destination and travel routes. The embassy asked its nationals to take steps for their security.
The US embassy spokesman Lou Finter also said that the US personnel had been instructed to cancel all travel to and from Peshawar for the next 24 hours in response to a security threat.
