CJP gives 48-hour deadline to police

PESHAWAR (Online) Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has given 48 hours deadline to police for recovery of a student who has gone missing since the last one and a half years from Mansehra.
While hearing a case of missing student Mazhar Hayat from Mansehra, in SC Peshawar Registry, the CJP remarked when the police did not want to take any action, they say the case pertains to tribal area. When police have powers then as to why it does not exercise them, he questioned. The CJ also directed the police to inform the court about the progress achieved during the last one year in Mazhar Hayat case.
