NA body briefed on drone attacks

ISLAMABAD - Parliamentary Committee on National Security was briefed here on Wednesday by Foreign and Interior Ministers and Director General ISI on country’s role in the ongoing war on terror and the problems being faced by law enforcement agencies due to unabated US drones attacks, The Nation has learnt. The meeting of Parliamentary Committee was held on Wednesday, which stretched well over nine hours and still remained inconclusive and would meet again on Dec 16, a reliable source privy to the deliberations of the meeting revealed to The Nation. In the upcoming session Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar would likely brief the committee members. The sources said that next session of the National Assembly would be held on December 15. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qurashi, Advisor to Prime Minster Rehman Malik and Director General of Inter Services Intelligence Lieutenant General Ahmed Shuja Pasha gave detailed briefing on the matters regarding the rising temperature of the Indo-Pak relations, role of the country in the ongoing war on terror and the problems being faced by the state due to the unabated US drone attacks in the Tribal Areas.
