Firing, attacks leave 14 dead in Balochistan

QUETTA-At least 14 people including a bride and bridegroom were killed and 20 others sustained critical injuties, some of them seriously, in separate incidents of firing and target killings in Dera Bugti, Nushki, Mastung and Khuzdar districts on Tuesday. Gas pipelines were also blown up in Dera Bugti district.
As per reports reaching, nine people including bride and bridegroom were killed and 18 others wounded when security forces allegedly opened firing on a wedding function in Dasht Goran area in Sui. The injured were shifted to hospital. Some deceased were identified as Kaka, Bahram, Allahdad, Peer Bakhsh, Ali Baig and Mahar Ali.
The sources said that personnel of security forces also arrested some injured persons. However, official sources did not confirm the incident.
In another incident, four people were killed and one seriously injured when armed attackers opened firing on a group of persons in Nushki district, some 140 kilometer away from here.
Police sources, said that two unknown armed persons riding on a motorcycle sprayed volley of bullets on a group of persons who were busy in a workshop at Ain-ud-Din Road, which resulted in death of three persons including Farooq, Muhammad Ajmal and Shahbaz while Muhammad Siddique sustained critical wounds. The injured and deceased were shifted to Civil Hospital Naushki.
‘It was apparently incident of target killing’, said a police official ,adding, that the militants had also targeted the shop before this incident’.
The deceased were stated to be residents of Okara, Bahawalpur and Faisalabad of Punjab province.
