MULTAN - Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has declared that the Army operation encompasses all those areas where it was needed.

So well expand the operation while keeping in view our resources, he added while answering a question on further expansion of the operation during a news conference at Multan Airport Friday.
He said it was premature to say anything on the climax of the operation. He said it was a new development in the tribal area that the locals formed lashkars and required foreigners to vacate their areas.
Referring to recent G-8 summit, he said it was for the first time that G-8 countries offered assistance to Pakistan instead of asking us to do more. It was all praise for Pakistan. After a long time, they refrained from asking us to 'Do More and instead said how could they help more, he added. He said that he also held a tri-lateral meeting with Russian and Afghan foreign ministers and chalked out future framework for cooperation.
He said he exchanged views with Indian foreign minister during G-8 summit. Ive told him that well have to take forward the agenda of Zardari-Manmohan meeting and re-engage on composite dialogue and other unresolved issues like Kashmir and water, he added. He said Pakistan wanted to resolve Kashmir issue bilaterally while keeping in view the aspirations of Kashmiris.
He said he sought cooperation from Indian foreign minister on two new issues. These issues include water and terrorism. Ive told Indian foreign minister that we should resolve water issue politically otherwise it would become source of tension, he said and added: The other issue is terrorism. Both of us have fallen prey to this menace and we should uproot it through dialogue and cooperation. According to him, it has almost been decided that the prime ministers of Pakistan and India would meet at Sharam Al-Sheikh on July 16.
Answering a question on Kashmir, he said the Kashmir movement was indigenous, local and political. As far as Pakistan government is concerned, it is morally and politically committed to supporting the Kashmir movement, he added.
To a query on Saraiki province issue, he said he was bound to adhere to party discipline and therefore he would not give any statement on this issue. About renewed American offensive in Afghanistan, he said Pakistan was taken on board and into confidence by the allied forces on the operation.
To a question on a Pakistani family detained in Saudi Arabia on narcotics smuggling charges, he said investigations were underway, but the government would fully defend the rights of its citizens.
Yet to another question, he said the government had to adjust petrol prices according to international rates.
