Militants' hideouts targeted in Bajaur; 14 killed

BAJAUR AGENCY (Agencies) - At least 14 militants were reportedly killed and several others injured when the security forces targeted hideouts of extremists and Taliban fighters at Tehsil Mamondon Monday.

According to security officials, the security forces continued offensive against extremists and militants in various areas of Tehsil Mamond and targetted their positions.

In Momond, the areas of Sheenkot, Metro Shah, Siparay and Damadola were shelled Monday afternoon in which 10 miscreants were killed. On Monday morning, the troops targeted the hideouts of militants at various areas of Mamond in which three militants died, the sources said.

The security officials claimed to have destroyed several bunkers and dens of the miscreants. The writ of government has been re-established in most areas of Bajaur Agency and the law and order situation has considerably been improved. The routine activities in majority areas of Khar Sub Division are running as normal.
