Woman delivers single-headed twins

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE - A woman has given birth to conjoined twins with common head after an operation at a private hospital here on Tuesday.
According to the hospital sources, wife of Yousuf Mathelo, a resident of village Hussain Bux Mathelo, gave birth to an abnormal child having four legs, four arms and one head after operation at Omaz Medical Centre. However, the child died during the delivery process.
Talking to TheNation, mother of the child said that earlier she had given birth to seven children in normal condition.
The woman added she was admitted to the hospital after feeling severe pain in her stomach, where doctors extracted the dead baby through successful operation.
Dr Shabana Channa told TheNation that she conducted ultra-sound test of the woman and found her pregnant with conjoined twins.
"I saw a creature with four legs and four arms but two bodies joined through a single head. It was actually conjoined twins", she said.
Dr Channa added that the twins died in the womb of their mother due to complicated delivery and were removed from the body of the woman through operation.
