RAWALPINDI All Pakistan Compressed Natural Gas Station Owners Association Wednesday rejected the decision of the Government regarding closure of CNG stations two days a week and threatened a countrywide strike if the decision was not withdrawn.
Earlier, the Federal Cabinet approved the proposal of closing CNG stations two days a week in a bid to save energy.
All Pakistan CNG Station Owners Association took the decision here in a meeting that was chaired by its Chairman Ghayas Abdullah Paracha. The participants of the meeting expressed grave concern over the decision and asked the Government not to implement this unwise and irrational proposal.
Paracha said that the policy of the Government was harming the CNG industry. He added that the decision of closing CNG stations two days a week during winter season was unjust and would create a lot of troubles for the masses.
He said that public transport could not be kept off roads for two days a week, as masses would suffer. He warned if the Government didnt take back its decision, all CNG stations would be shut down across the country for an indefinite period of time.
