Kashmiris' self-determination right cannot be denied: leader

WASHINGTON - "Nothing can break the will of the Kashmiri people for their legitimate and undeniable right for self-determination â€" the basic human right..." Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, a prominent Washington-based Kashmiri leader, said, referring to the brutality of the Indian military forces in occupied Kashmir.

In a statement, he urged the international community to intervene to help ease the sufferings of Kashmiri people peacefully demanding their UN-mandated rights.

“The horrific and inhumane situation in Kashmir, caused by the Indian military and paramilitary forces, has deteriorated to unheard levels of depravity.� said Fai, who heads the Kashmiri American Council.

In response, the Coordination Committee  headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Geelani, and Mohammad Yasin Malik, have resolved to organize a massive peaceful protest on October 6, 2008 to the historic Lal Chowk in the besieged city of Srinagar, he added.
