President Zardari arrives in Syria on January 8

President Asif Ali Zardari is arriving in Syria on a two-day official visit on January 8 to offer condolence to the Syrian president on the death of his brother.This will be President Zardaris first visit to Syria after assuming his office.During his visit, President Zardari will meet Syrian President Bashar al Assad to condole the demise of his brother Majd al Assad, who passed away on December 12 last year.
He will convey the feelings of sympathy and solidarity of the people of Pakistan to the bereaved family and the people of Syria.
The two presidents will exchange views on ways and means to diversify and further strengthen existing cordial relations between the two brotherly countries and discuss global and regional cooperation in comprehensive manner.
The foundation of excellent bilateral relations with Syria was laid by late Prime Ministers Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
