50 jailed jirga members freed
Source: Our Staff Reporter June 7, 2008 PESHAWAR- Political Agent of Kurram Agency Mohammad Azam Khan on Friday announced to release all 50 members of tribal jirga who were arrested from a hotel in Peshawar some two weeks back.
In a bid to restore peace by brokering an agreement between two warring sects in the Agency, the newly posted Political Agent soon after taking charge of the office went straight to Haripur Central Jail where he held a meeting with these detained tribal elders.
