PM's advice to new President
Source: Our staff reporter September 7, 2008 ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has greeted the nation and Asif Ali Zardari on his grand victory as new President of Pakistan.
“I greet the poor people of Pakistan, the political forces and the workers of the party that today democracy has strengthened, the Federation has grown strong and we vow that our party will continue to make Pakistan more strong,” the PM said while addressing an Iftar-dinner in Islamabad which was also addressed by President-elect Asif Zardari.
Gilani vowed to accomplish the mission of late Benazir Bhutto and take Pakistan forward on the path of progress and prosperity.
He said Zardari was a symbol of Federation and the PPP would continue to play its role in further strengthening it. He said the day was a reflection of dream of late Benazir Bhutto and said his election was the outcome of support of the allies.
