The ISPR officials claimed that at least 25 Taliban militants and 10 soldiers were killed during clashes at Loya Sam area. The clashes between the two sides had erupted late Wednesday when around 200 armed militants attacked a convoy of security forces.

However, later the traditional tribal elders initiated efforts for ceasefire and after holding successful talks with the administration and the Taliban militant declared the ceasefire. Maulvi Omar and civil administration officials at Khar, headquarters of Bajaur Agency, have confirmed the ceasefire.

Maulvi Omar, when contacted, said that TTP agreed for giving a safe route to the besieged personnel of the security forces when they laid down arms. He also claimed that number of the besieged personnel of the security forces was more than 100, including their five injured persons. He further claimed that the jirga members assured that security forces would not enter the area in future.
