LAHORE PML-N Chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Muham-mad Shahbaz Sharif have strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the SIA building in Model Town and expressed sympathies with the victim families.
Nawaz Sharif, who is in London, has asked the PML-N workers to donate blood and help in rescue operation and directed the chief minister to adopt every possible measure for helping the victims.
Shahbaz directed the government high-ups to rush to the blast scene and oversee the rescue operation, and later join them personally to supervise the operation.
He said perpetrators of this heinous and gruesome act were neither the well-wishers of Pakistan nor their acts were serving Islam.
He also visited the Jinnah Hospital and inquired about the injured. He announced financial assistance for the families of the victims as well as injured persons in accordance with the policy of the Punjab government.
Shahbaz said losses to property would also be compensated, adding that though monetary assistance was not a substitute for a human life but it could help in looking after the children of those who lost their lives in the tragedy. He went to each patient and besides seeking details of the incident, also inquired about the treatment facilities being extended to him.
Inspector General Police, Home secretary, commissioner Lahore, Capital City Police Officer, SSP Operations and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
Talking to media, the chief minister termed the incident as highly deplorable, which resulted in the loss of precious human lives. He said the terror strike should be condemned in the strongest terms.
He said an inquiry had been ordered to probe into the incident and people would soon be informed about the facts. He said injured were being looked after properly and provided best treatment facilities. He also prayed for the departed souls and an early recovery of the injured persons.
Menawhile, Patron-in-Chief Tehrik-e-Minhajul Quran Dr Tahirul Qadri has also denounced the attack, saying the terrorists are the worst enemy of humanity who do not have any respect for humanity.
