No option but to cooperate with PPP: Nawaz

LAHORE-PML-N chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has maintained that there is no option other than cooperating with the PPP as doing so would be in the best national interest.
Talking to mediamen at 90-Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam, he said he was very grateful to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani for their wish that PML-N should join the Federal govt.
According to him, he respects such sentiments. However, he asserted that becoming part of Federal govt depended on repealing the 17th Amendment and executing the Charter of Democracy.
He said if these demands were met, the spectrum of cooperation with PPP could be expanded beyond limits.
Nawaz also said national interests underscored the need for cooperation with PPP despite all odds.
'We have always made decisions keeping in view the national interests and that the next decision would be taken with similar intention, he added.
He said the purpose behind the struggle for reinstatement of the judiciary was to ensure provision for speedy justice without any discrimination.
He said PML-N wished that the country should be run in accordance with law and the Constitution.
He underlined the need for crafting the national policy in the Parliament in order to ensure its supremacy.
He stressed that restoration of 1973 Constitution and abrogation of all steps taken by the dictatorship could help running of the country in accordance with law and the Constitution.
