Polling opens in Lakki Marwat bye-election

Polling began amid stringent security at Frontier provincial constituency PF 75-II in Lakki Marwat on Wednesday.
Twenty-one candidates are contesting for provincial assembly seat. The polling opened at 0800 hours and will continue till 0500 hours in the evening.
Polling started at 8:30 in the morning, however some polling stations were seen deserted, a private TV reported.
The number of total registered voters stands at 88,636 including 51,436 males and 37200 female voters while 69 polling stations have been set up for by-polls. Fifteen polling stations have been declared most sensitive whereas 17 declared sensitive. A battalion of Pakistan army will assist police in case of emergency, election commission earlier said.
