The sources close to the PPP disclosed to TheNation that President Musharraf had been seeking a meeting with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani for a couple of weeks but the premier was reluctant to meet him and was looking towards Zardari for green signal, which the latter had not given so far.
These sources further disclosed that Zardari had also refused to see President Musharraf and said he need not see him and only the Prime Minister and his cabinet members were meeting him as required under the Constitution.
These sources view the 10-point charge sheet against President Musharraf that was presented in a press conference by PML-N central leader Ch Nisar Ali Khan on Sunday last was a significant move, which the PML-N leader intended to present in the Parliament as impeachment motion after consultation with the coalition partners.
These sources said that such an extreme move could not be taken without the consent of the other coalition partners and the leadership of a coalition partners had already discussed it and the move was made with the affirmative nod from other players in the arena.
The political analysts were of the view that neither PPP nor PML-N was interested in such an extreme move and they just wanted to pressurise President Musharraf to walk away in oblivion for which they were even ready to give indemnity to his unconstitutional acts of November 3, 2007.
These sources further revealed that the ruling coalition was creating such an atmosphere where it could make the supporters of President Musharraf realise that the political government could not function in his presence and the things would spin away from their control pushing the country into anarchy, which would equally be unacceptable to the pro-Musharraf forces.
