Imran Khan arrives in Karachi

Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan arrived in Karachi after more than two years, report said here on Sunday. Sindh government had foiled Khan’s many attempts of visiting Karachi in past by banning his entry in the province, sometime saying his visit may fuel political tension in the city, while some other times citing threats to Khan’s life. On May 3, he was restricted from boarding the plane to Karachi at Islamabad Airport and was apprised of Sindh government’s order to ban his entry another time in the province. However, later the provincial government lifted the ban on the directives of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, saying that Khan is “free to visit Karachi whenever he wishes” and would be provided foolproof security on his arrival.
