PESHAWAR (PPI) - Suicide bomber missed the target to cause loss of billion rupees to transporters on Pak-Afghan Highway near Michni Post here on Thursday. The head, an arm and one leg of the suicide attacker was safe in the blast while rest of his body was torn into pieces.
APA Landikotal Muhammad Tuhab Khan while briefing the journalists told that the suicider exploded himself to cause heavy loss to tankers and other trailers at 12:55 here on Thursday. His age may be between
25 to 30.
He said that since morning the traffic on Torkham Road was blocked, as two trucks had turned turtled on the road. The suicider had thought to blast the petrol-laden tanker bearing No; 464 TLC loaded for Afghanistan to set all the transport on fire from Torkham to Landikotal Bazaar, but APA said that it was a good luck of the
transporters and the common people that the suicider missed his target and himself became the target. It was the first ever suicide blast in the history of Landikotal which went waste by blessings of Almighty Allah, told APA Landikotal.
The locals and his relatives identified him as Ajman Khan son of Khair Muhammad resident of Bahadar Khel Khyber. After his identification, administration would consider what to do next and that who were the real master minded behind this suicide attack. The suiciders and those carrying bomb blasts were the actual enemies of humanity, Islam and Pakistan, added APA Landikotal.
He said that investigations were under way. He warned that such blasts were dangerous and needed to be stopped. APA Landikotal told that the suicider was going on feet to hit the tanker full of petrol but due to his failure or timing mishap, he went waste to get his goal.
After the suicide blast the offices of administration were cordoned off and the security inside the office was on high alert. If the tanker were hit, there might be a huge and unbearable loss of material and humans, told APA Landikotal. An eye witness told that the alleged suicide bomber was running behind the tanker but he
told that in the meanwhile he exploded before reaching the tanker which was moving slowing due to road blocked.
Some locals and his relatives identified him to be Qari namely Ajman son of Khair Muhammad resident of Khyber Landikotal. They also told that someone probably had given him some thing wrapped in a bag to
give it to a conductor of the tanker in which there was a time bomb, but he was not aware of it.
He was in the near past running his own small shop of spare parts, told a local person.
Another person told that he belonged to a very noble and peace loving family who did not believe in any violence.
Line officer of Khasadar Force also confirmed that the killed person was Ajman a local person belonging to Bahadar Khel Khyber Landikotal.
