PESHAWAR Additional Sessions Judge confirmed Interior Minister Rehman Maliks bail before arrest here on Wednesday.
The Interior Minister is accused of leaving Pakistan illegally in November 1998.
The Passport Cell of FIA, Peshawar, reported the case on 5th November 1998 that Malik made his exit from Pakistan via Torkham illegally, and thus committed an offence under the passport laws of the country.
The counsel for Malik argued that at that time just a register was maintained at Torkham and no other documents were required, adding that even otherwise FIA had no jurisdiction for lodging a case in matter pertaining to FATA.
The court after hearing the arguments and perusal of record confirmed the bail before arrest of Rehman Malik.
