Aafia Siddiqui bail hearing postponed till Sept. 3

NEW YORK, Aug 11:A U.S. district court judge on Monday postponed  

bail hearing of Pakistani scientist Dr Aafia Siddiqui until September 3 with the consent of defense lawyers.

    The judge ordered that Ms Siddiqui, who has a bullet wound, be examined by a mediccal doctor within 24 hours.

    The Court was informed that Dr Siddiqui has not been examined since her

arrival in New York. When pointed out that Ms Siddiqui wants a female doctor to attend her, the judge said she needs services of a professional doctor.

    Earlier, a group of Pakistani Americans and American citizens on Monday staged a demonstration in front of a U. S. district court in New York city, demanding justice for Dr Aafia Siddiqui ahead of the Pakistani scientist's appearance for her bail hearing.
