Punjab role laudable: Raisani

LAHORE Balochistan Chirf Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani has said that the consensus on the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award is a good beginning for the country.
'It is for the very first time in the history of Pakistan and a very good and positive beginning, he said while addressing a joint Press conference here at Chief Ministers Secretariat on Friday.
Raisani also said that he is thankful to Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for displaying broadmindedness and a generous attitude, which would result in strengthening of the country.
He also appreciated the positive attitude of the people of Punjab in promoting an atmosphere of brotherhood.
He said that this Award is an important step towards provincial autonomy.
He further said that the elder brother Punjab has taken a right step for the betterment of the country and its next generations.
Referring to Punjab Chief Minister, he said, 'he has a vision for the future.
He said that former President Pervez Musharraf had failed to develop a consensus on the NFC Award and he used to implement his decision forcibly.
Now the provincial governments have unanimously resolved the issue, he added.
He also thanked the Finance Minister, Federal government and Punjab Chief Minister for extending special support for the people of Balochistan in the new NFC formula.
